Application

EME piston-type filling machines are specifically designed for filling dilute, viscous and pasty products, such as marmalade, jam, gravy-base, ketchup, nut-nougat cream, fruit-juice, condensed milk and similar products, into cans, jars and bottles. The machine is suitable for partial or complete fills.

Function

The EME piston-type filling machine is a continous rotary design and is produced with different numbers of filling heads, depending on the output required, the container size and type of product. The machine is also suitable for hot filling at up to 90º Celsius or for cold filling.

The dosing cylinders are mounted onto a bearer plate, which also supports the machine centretank reservoir. Bulit-in probes control the product level in the centretank and are used to operate the product pump or inlet valve. The product is drawn from the centretank reservoir into the metering cylinders by the action of the pistons and is dispensed into the containers through the rotary filling valves. The volume to be filled can be adjusted via an infinitely-variabale mechanism and may be adjusted during running. The containers are transported through the machine using an infeed scroll, star-wheels and guides.

The filling valves operate only when containers are present, giving secure "no-container - no fill" operation.

The use of quick-release sizeparts allows rapid changeover, including changeover from bottle to cans or jars. To increase the size range, a set of exchange cylinders can be provided.

Design

EME piston-type filling machines are constructed completely from food-grade stainless steel and plastic components. Their rugged welded construction is designed for long life at high filling speeds. The machine top-plate serves as a collecting tray for cleaning and washing down.

Cleaning of the machine components is quick and easy. All materials used are inert to food. Drive comes from frequency-controlled motors. Power transmission is via noiseless, low-maintenance gears.

The EME piston-type filling machines requires minimum operator attendance, working fully automatic once containers are placed on the infeed. The eqipment is delivered complete with all drives, electrical equipment and control panel. Operator controls are on a console, with PLC-based text display.
